Character

A fairly young girl, about 13 -15 years of age. She looks like any normal human, but her strange shade of ash grey hair and pink eyes would usually give away the fact that she's not just any girl. Yin is in fact, what people in the DtB world call a doll. Like the boy July, it's common knowledge that she is actually a manufactured 'being' (whether organic or robotic we have yet to know) mostly used as a medium to house a human consciousness. In Yin's case, she is employed for her skills of using 'observative spirits' via water, meaning that she can survey a the surroundings of a scene within a certain range so long as a part of her body is connected with water and the place she is surveying has water as well. This proves to be a useful tool for Huang and the group, for most of the time she can survey police activity, as well as pin-point the location of fellow members. When she's not on the job with the group, she runs a small Tobacco shop at the corner of a crossroads. For those with a keen sense of observation, they will notice an observative spirit in the form of a slightly glowing spectral blob with dark spots coming from any water sources.

Personality

Despite being coined a medium, Yin has no known outstanding personality traits or just no known personality, period. She is quiet and devoid of emotion, and because of this is more likely to follow orders without hesitation or moral conflict. Like all dolls she is objective, truthful and does not know of the concept of 'merits'. However, compared to July, the series suggests that there are times when Yin is capable of more than just being a silent observer. An example is that one part when Hei gets emotional with Huang, Yin reaches to hold his hand, but is harshly rejected by the young man. Perhaps this is an indication that even as a doll with ME encoded information, Yin would be capable of an emotionally driven response the longer she lives among humans.
